Contemporary carved waharoa (gateway) depicting the three waka Uruao, Araiteuru, and Takitimu. The waharoa consists of a centre panel, two exterior side panels, and two interior side panels. Centre panel and exterior side panels are painted in shades of reds, green, yellow, black, and white. Each exterior side panel has a projection depicting a waka prow with a figure in the centre. Four other ancestral figures are carved down the height of the panels, one on top of the other, with geometric shapes on the centre and sides. The centre panel has three ancestral figures carved one on top of the other, with a projection depicting a waka stern. Two ancestral figures stand on either side of the centre piece, amongst geometric shapes representing waves. Two unpainted interior panels are carved from totara with two ancestral figures each, one on top of the other, stands on either side of the interior frame. Wooden tiwha (plug) for repairing holes in pōhā (kelp bags). Square shape with a rectangular cross-section. Surface is worked smooth and flat. Grooved around the perimeter.

Piece of worked wood, use unknown. Semi circular wooden article. Curved and crescent-shaped, similar to a barrel stave, with a rectangular cross-section. Rounded at each end with straight side edges. Surface is relatively smooth. Dark brown, almost black in colour, and possibly charred or painted with a varnish or other material.

Complete poutokamanawa (carved building component) made of totara. Realistic (not stylized) male figure, painted red with white on eyes and mouth and black irises and moko. Earlobes have perforations for pendants. Grooved comb protruding from head. Five-fingered hands rest on lower abdomen. Body with clavicles and rib cage suggested but body otherwise plain. No genitals depicted. Sawn off just above the ankles and attached to a black painted base.

Complete tuki (mouthpiece for a calabash), previously broken in four pieces and glued back together. Light brown and dark brown wood. Circular, slightly flared at the top rim. Interior surface is smooth. Exterior surface is carved with rauponga (ridges and triangular notches) pattern. Six small perforations at the top rim and ten perforations at the base. Base has a ridge on the rim for fitting onto gourd.

Wooden heru with twenty teeth tied with muka fibre at the head in a diamond-shaped pattern. The two external teeth are larger than the others; one of the teeth has a curved protruding piece at the head (broken on the other side). Wood is polished smooth.

Large wooden kumete. Surface is rough, with adze marks visible. One end shallow with a pouring spout on the edge. Other end is deeper with a slightly squared-off edge and a deep crack. One side of the base is broken with a large hole.

Broken wooden puppet figure with movable arms, left ear, and base not present. Surface is polished smooth except for face, which has a complete incised moko. Large cylindrical head with ears and deeply grooved eyes. Top knot or comb represented by a squared-off projection coming from the top of the head. Square perforations at shoulders where movable arms would have been attached. Four circular perforations on the back side, one of which has a small metal piece sticking out of it. Knees are sawn flat at the front. Broken at the feet, with grooves and remnants of carved toes remaining.

Wooden helve, pounamu/ nephrite blade/inaka variety. Carved handle oval in section, ridge at base extending from tongue of wheku style inward sitting head diminishing at middle to a blunt point at proximal end. Distal end has platform with carved face on internal side below. External/projection at distal end of platform and elaborately carved in form of human figure; inset paua eyes. Manaia sits back to handle and merged with human figure with protruding tongue. Toki blade lashed onto handle with fibre. Blade is thin sectioned , bevelled the full length on true right side but not on other. An approximate 30 degree angled blade which shows sign of some wear. Shimmery green with high schistocity and lighter mottled vein. Two perforations at butt end for attachment. Several cracks including one at centre distal end of toki.

Complete comb, manufactured from 19 splinters of wood, including two thinker end pieces. These splinters are connected together by a long length of two-ply fibre that weaves the pieces together. The distal end of the end pieces have knobs that project outwards.

Wooden kokeshi doll.

Complete comb, manufactured from 22 slivers of wood, with two being thicker end pieces. These tines are strapped together with thin fibre. The thicker end pieces has matching heads that face outwards at the distal end. Both chins are slightly damaged, with one laterally perforated.

Complete kahawai lure. Curved wooden shank with notches at head and base for lashings. Paua inlay. Lashings and cord at head and base. Straight bone point with internal barb. Some remnants of feathers at base.

Complete tokotoko (walking stick). Dark brown wood. Carved with three full-length figures and two faces, all with white shell eyes. The top two figures are male and female human figures, with moko. The bottom full-length figure is more stylized, with a large mouth and carved in a triangular notched pattern, creating a shaggy, fur-like body. All figures and faces are carved with a variety of rauponga, rauru, and mangopare patterns. A band of carved mangopare runs down part of the bottom half of the tokotoko. The handle and distal end are undecorated. The distal end appears to have had a cap which has come off.

Complete kahawai lure. Wooden shank with knobs at head. Paua shell inlay. Muka lashings at head and base. Curved bone point with internal barb and notches at base.

Long shaft of light coloured wood. Circular in cross section with many knots. The sides of the proximal end are squared. Distal end split into quarters, with wooden wedges pushed between. There is a length of twine wrapped around the distal end.

Broken kahawai lure, shank remaining. Curved wooden shank with knob at base and notches at head. Paua shell inlay.
