1. Images of taoka Māori

Images of taoka Māori (cultural treasures) are of deep cultural significance to iwi. These are provided for research, personal, study, or educational use only. Please treat them with care and respect. They must not be used for commercial or public distribution without written permission.

2. Image licensing and reuse

We use Creative Commons licences on some collection items:

Where a licence applies, it will be clearly marked.

Some works are out of copyright and marked as having no known copyright restrictions. Others are orphan works where we have made every effort to locate the copyright holder but could not confirm ownership.
