Getting Here

You can find us at
419 Great King Street, North Dunedin

On foot:

The Museum is about 15 minutes away from the Octagon (Dunedin’s city centre) and 12 minutes from the Bus Hub.

By bus:

There is a bus stop on Albany St, at the edge of the Museum Reserve. Information on timetables and routes can be found on the Otago Regional Council website.

By car:

There is no visitor car park at the Museum, but metered parking is available on the surrounding streets from $3.5/hour (free on Sundays). You can find information about costs and time limits on the DCC website.

If you are willing to walk a little further, there is free parking beyond the metered zones.

You can be dropped off or picked up directly outside the Museum’s main entrance. Be aware that the driveway is shared with pedestrians, so for safety it is one-way and a 5 kmph speed limit applies. Please enter the driveway from the Cumberland Street side and exit onto Great King Street.

By taxi:

Our staff at the Information Desk are happy to call a taxi for you. You can book your own taxi via the YourRide app. Uber is also available in Dunedin.
