Broken adze (portion of lower blade). Stone. Mid green. Cross-section is trapezoidal, with back narrower than front. Surface is ground, except on broken edges. Butt not present. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge broken off. "Papanui Inlet" written on back. "Cam 60" written on back.
Broken adze (portion of blade remaining). Stone. Black, mid grey, light grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground. Butt not present, bevel and cutting edge not present. "Papanui Inlet" written on surface.
Broken adze (fragment remaining). Stone. Mid grey. Cross-section is roughly oval. Surface is ground and flaked. Butt not present, cutting edge and bevel not present. "Papanui Inlet" written on surface.
Incomplete adze - poll extant. Rectangular at poll, oval at break. Ground with bruising on sides. Butt present but shoulders not. Bevel and cutting edge not present.
Complete adze. Stone. Black. Cross-section of blade is trapezoidal with back narrower than front. Cross-section of butt is oval. Surface of blade is ground, surface of butt is bruised. Major differentiation between butt and blade, front slightly reduced and sides reduced. Poll cut into butt at an angle. Proper right back of butt reduced. Bevel demarcated by lines. Cutting edge chipped off. Otago written on back.
Broken adze (blade remaining). Stone. Black. Cross-section is rectangular with rounded front and back. Surface is ground, small area of flaking on proper right side on front and proper left side. Butt not present. Bevel is demarcated by a line, and is slightly concave. Cutting edge is sharp and curved. Otago written on front.
Broken adze (Butt remaining). Cross-section is oval. The front side is bruised, with natural rough patches on either side. Back side has two different lighter grey patches that are rough, in between them are ground patches. No differentiation between butt and blade. Blade not present.
Broken adze, butt and upper blade remaining (it's a very rough adze, slightly hard to differentiate which end is which). Cross-section is oval. Surface is flaked. Undifferentiated between butt and blade. Bevel and cutting edge missing.
Broken adze (Blade remaining). Cross-section is oval. Front and back sides are bruised. Lower front area is ground, chin of blade is flaked. Butt not present. Bevel is continuous with blade, blade is blunt and curved, flaked extensively.
