Kā Hoa ō Tūhura
Friends of the Museum
We are a group of diverse, yet like-minded people with a singular purpose: to support the world-class Tūhura Otago Museum as it collects, preserves, and makes available material and information relating to natural, cultural, and scientific heritage.
The brainchild of former Museum Director H D Skinner, the Friends first met in 1926, with benefactor Willi Fels serving as the Chair.
Tūhura Otago Museum is a New Zealand treasure supported by the Friends for nearly 100 years. Being a member allows you to have a more in-depth relationship with the Museum’s collection and wider activities—we encourage all ages to join us in supporting and enjoying its diverse programmes.
