Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Stone. Cross-section is trapezoidal, with back narrower than front. Surface is ground on front blade, bevel and proper right side. Bruised on back, proper left side and butt. Major differentiation between butt and blade, front and sides reduced forming shoulder, sides taper towards poll. Bevel is continuous with blade, and is concave at chin. Cutting edge is sharp and curved, lightly chipped, particularly on proper right side. "Waitaki" written on front and back.
