Pendant, Toki

Complete pounamu pendant in the shape of a bird or fish. Dark and mid-green in colour, highly translucent and chatoyant. Surface is polished. Suspension hole at proximal end indicates animal's eye, drilled from both sides. Proximal end has a large projection on one side edge with three notches below. Other side edge of the proximal end is also notched. Distal edge is oblique, indicating a fin or feathers, with an indentation in the centre.
