Adze, Toki

Complete adze. Dark brown stone. The cross-section is oval at the butt and lenticular at the bevel end. The surface is bruised and there are flake scars on the poll and on the back of the blade. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The sides of the blade taper in towards the poll. The bevel is smooth and continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is curved and irregular, with a flake scar on the front centre.
