Adze, Toki
Complete adze ( broken in 2 at the butt). Stone. Black, mid red. Cross-section of blade is trapezoidal with back narrower than front, and front rounded. Cross-section of butt is semi-circular, back flattened. Surface is mostly ground, becoming bruised on the back and on butt. Major differentiation between butt and blade, shoulder demarcated by a ridge, front reduced after ridge. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is sharp and curved. "Hedgehope Southland" written on front of both pieces of adze.
