Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Dark brown stone with a layer of lighter brown on the front. Trapezoidal cross-section with the back narrower than the front. The surface is ground, flaked and bruised. There is a rounded shoulder on the front of the blade and a reduction in the stone on the front and sides of the butt. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is sharp and chipped.
