Adze, Hafted, Toki
Complete hafted adze Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is ground. Butt not visible due to haft Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is sharp and curved. Hafted adze. Adze is connected to highly carved, dark brown, wooden (T shaped) haft. Decorated end (opposite adze) has carved Maori figure with paua shell eyes. Wood has been cut into haft shape. Adze connected to haft by twine.
