Adze, Toki

Complete adze. Trapezoidal cross-section with the front wider than the back. The surface has bruised and ground patches with several flake scars at the poll and cutting edge. There is major differentiation between the butt and the blade, with a distinct curved shoulder and a reduction in the stone on the front and sides of the butt. The bevel is continuous with the blade but demarcated by an oblique line of bruising. The cutting edge is sharp but chipped.
