Collection Record

Adze, Toki

Unfinished adze. Black stone. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is flaked with a ground bevel. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade, although the sides of the butt taper in towards the poll at a greater angle than the tapering on the rest of the blade. The bevel is smooth and continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is curved and sharp. Green Hills written on back.
