Adze, Toki
Broken adze (upper blade, butt remaining). Stone. Mid grey. Cross-section of butt is oval, cross-section of blade is rectangular but front and back slightly rounded. Surface is ground on back, bruised on front and sides. Major differentiation between butt and blade, sides heavily reduced. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge not present. "Papanui" written on back.
