Adze, Toki

Complete adze. Black and dark brown stone. Cross-section is triangular on the butt and trapezoidal on the blade, with the back narrower than the front. Surface is bruised with some grounding near the cutting edge. Major differentiation between butt and blade with the sides and front reduced to form shoulders. Bevel is demarcated by a curved line. Cutting edge is straight and sharp. "Waikawa" inscription on front and back
