Complete adze The cross section is triangular with the apex to the front. The surface of the front is predominantly ground with some flaking at the butt. The surface of the back is predominantly flaked, with a ground bevel. There is some kind of yellowish residue, perhaps adhesive, on the back of the butt. The butt is demarcated by a reduction of the front at the shoulder, tapering towards the poll. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is straight and chipped but sharp.
