Collection Record
Adze, Toki
Complete adze. The cross section is asymmetrical: approximately rectangular, but with a sawing mark on the proper left side resulting in the back being narrower then the front. The surface is predominantly ground with some bruising on the sides and edges. There are transverse grooves on the front of the butt which may be hafting scars. The butt is undifferentiated. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is asymmetrical: slightly curved with the proper right side of the blade longer than the left. It is sharp, but has a small chip in the centre.
