Complete roughout. Stone. Dark grey, mid grey. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is flaked. Undifferentiated between butt and blade. Bevel is demarcated by a rough ridge at the chin, but is unfinished. Cutting edge is blunt and straight, also unfinished. Large fragment missing from proper left side of cutting edge. "Clutha Dist." written on front. Tag tied around adze reads "Unfinished Maori adze, Clutha District".
