Adze, Toki

Complete unfinished adze. Grey stone with a patch of white on the back proper left. Lenticular cross-section at the butt, quadrangular at the blade. The surface is mostly flaked and bruised.The sides of the butt are reduced and taper in towards the poll. The bevel has flake scars and ground areas, and is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is curved and asymmetrical. There is illegible writing in pencil on each side of the blade. On the front there is a piece of paper adhered to the stone with "II /" written on it.
