Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Stone. Black, light brown. Cross-section of butt is semi-circular, back flattened. Cross-section of upper blade is triangular with apex to front, widening out to trapezoidal, with front narrower than back towards lower blade. Surface of lower blade is ground, bruised on all other surfaces. Major differentiation between butt and blade, front heavily reduced forming large shoulder. Ridge at poll end of butt, after which butt slopes down towards poll. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is sharp and curved, chipped on proper right side. Small sticker on poll; "E.171.8 / Duntroon / H. Uttley".
