Collection Record
Adze, Toki
Complete adze. The cross section is asymmetrical but approximately plano-convex with the front flattened. The surface is bruised and ground. There are deep saw marks running through the middle, from the poll to the cutting edge, on both the front and back suggesting the specimen was to be cut in two. The butt is undifferentiated. The bevel is demarcated by a line. The cutting edge is straight but angular, with the proper left side of the blade shorter than the right. The edge is sharp.
