Complete toki poutangata, hafted adze. The haft is finely carved wood in a variety of styles. The distal end of the handle has a two-sided anthropomorphic head, with paua shell inlaid eyes. There is a perforation through the handle between the knob and handle. The handle itself has basically longitudinal carving lines along the length of the handle, with three equally spaced latitudinal lines, and one curved area of carving near the distal end. There is a circular paua shell inlay on one side below the human figure on the heel of the haft. This anthropomorphic figure has legs apart, penis, four toes per feet, bent knees with spiral design on buttocks and shoulders, protruding tongue, paua inlay eyes, face mostly uncarved. The adze itself protrudes through to base of neck, set in triangular shaped slot, with fibre wrapped around the shoulder of the blade and end of the haft.
