Complete kahawai lure. Wooden shank with knobs at head and base. White iridescent shell inlay. Straight bone point with internal barb. Lashings at base and lashings with braided cord at head.

Very thick vine twisted into a large knot, sawn off at each end.

Wooden barracouta lure with bent nail point

Complete epa. Rectangular shaped piece that has been sawn off at top and at bottom. This epa shows the upper half of a frontal human figure - the head disproportionately large, with paua shell inlay eyes. The head is carved using a rauponga pattern, while the body is carved using a different style where featuring notches (ngau pae). Right arm is lowered at shoulder but bends up at elbow so that three fingered hand rests on pectoral area beneath a small raised spiral. Left arm is lowered and bent at elbow so that three fingered hand rests across stomach This piece is cut short at the top of the hips.

Complete model of a round house. Thatching is tied to support sticks with a moxture of threads. Support structure is a miture of two types of sticks. Proper left side of the house has an entryway. The front of the model has no thatching to allow veiwing of the inside of the house. Two notes accompany the model. One is an information display note reading "Model of a round house. Such as was used in recent years on the Mutton Bird Islands, and in Pre-European Otago. The thatch was not cut regularly as is done in the model. Made & Pres. by J. Lee". The other note is handwritten and reads "Model. Round Hut. Pre European. Made & Pres J Lee".

Complete model of a torch. Totara bark is bound together by raupo. Flax is loosely woven and tied to the exterior. The torch tapers to a point at the base, with the raupo visible at the top.

Piece of worked wood, use unknown. Completely burnt to charcoal with dessicated surface. Tubular shape, round cross-section. Tapered at both ends, with chisel marks evident at one end.

Rourou (food bowl). Woven with ten whenu (strands) of harakeke (flax) from the centre outwards in a takitahi pattern. Completed by trimming left over whenu on the interior with outer whenu tucked back into the weave of the bowl. Tied with a small piece of harakeke to secure. Four whenu are woven into a round four ply whiri (plait) used to make a handle. Rourou were frequently constructed as single or limited use items as they were quick and easy to weave.

Piece of worked wood, use unknown. Burnt at each end. Rounded at one end and broken at the other. Groove running lengthwise down the centre on one side.

Complete wooden barracouta shank, with metal nails through head and base. Large amount of reduction at head for line attachment. Perforation through base, small fragment of lower base not present.

Wooden flute; koauau. Charcoal evident inside flute and in two holes on top with surface crack in grain running between holes. Another hole on side at proximal end. Proximal end cut flush on outside of natural joint with distal end having an irregular face with missing surface chips. A deeper but rounded cut in the distal end may be remnant hole which has eroded out.

Piece of worked wood, use unknown. Burnt, with a flattened, smooth surface. Cut marks on one side.
