Glad to hear old chair arrived safely, will get a Pare Kaa from Atiu, will post pebbles out of Mangaian caves that may be of interest.

Has an adze and a three-legged kuete to send, working on obtaining a Taro god from the swamps. Nores that although old gods supposedly destroyed, many hidden/lost/forgotten. Still working on writing down the details of the game of pua (for thesis? paper?). Has watched local cure for illness called Tira. Complaints about damage to boats on reef, costs of shipping oranges, and the party the Queen of Tararo Ariki and her hangers-on are having outside his room. Comment re Te Rangi Hiroa (what a loss, NZ hasn't much time for her own people)

letter, 09/11/1934, Mr Drur+A1800y Low to H.D. Skinner, Has located steering paddle for canoe (sent earlier?). Very old, still with original family and not used since owner's death. About 9 foot long, mae of Tou and with unusual carving on blade. Also a bailer. Can probably get latter but not former. Have remains of old canoe cased but will ship next year. Has found adze in taro swamp. Finished paper on the game of pua. Sending crescent-shaped pearl necklace for him to look at but must be returned. Hopes to get Trenn to ship parcels of curios (and oranges). Lot of sickness (probably from Rarotonga). No medical care available and lack of medicine. Can Skinner find a catholic medical student who would be send the Catholic father caring for them an up-to-date medical textbook

Skinner, Mr Low mentions he has sent a large case of curios to Skinner, which includes 3 missing pieces of a canoe, 3 adzes, 2 spears, a few loose pearl shells. Mention of a hurricane taking down many crops, but the resourceful locals are busy planting kumara and bananas.

letter, 13/10/1934, Mr Drury Low, Mauke to H.D. Skinner, The name of the canoe, of which parts were sent to Skinner, is Teurumaunga. Asking for 12 shillings payment for the stone axe/adze sent previously. Author has started a collection of items for Skinner's Museum. Mention of Kura sightings, a pretty red bird with yellow wings. Mention of a canoe hidden in a cave called Vaitango, the canoe is rumoured to be stolen from the Atiuans. The fifth page of the letter includes a detailed outline of the canoe.
