Andersen refers to "graceful curves" of pendants. Notes that Panau is the Maori name for Waghorn's farm, and refers to land being used as a refuge during raid of Te Rauparaha on Kaiapoi and Onawe. Notes that Maori artifacts have been found in Sandy Bay.
