letter, 18/10/1934, T W Downes Wanganui River Trust to H D Skinner, Returning by mail the films lent, from which prints have been taken, thanks. The Hocken Library Committee has not yet met, but should do shortly. Confident that the offer will be closed regarding the Gilfillan sketch books and Buller letters. Anxiously awaiting word that Downes will be in Dunedin. Mr Fels will host him for a week and Mr McNab asks to pass on that you stay with them for a week also. A science congree is being held in Dunedin during May 1935, there will be half-a-dozen sections, of which Ethnology and History are one. Will Downes accept chairmanship of this section? Would honour us greatly. Do not forget to bring the Fiji club when he comes.
