Can get leave from his board all right but have a Maori class at the Collingdale (?) school coaching for and would be unfair to throw the boy overboard. Regarding the Science Congress, if Skinner thinks he is capable of taking the chairmanship of the ethnological section, he would be pleased to, but thinks Skinner would be far better suited for the position, he hasn't the slightest idea of the preliminary work. Read an offer of 40 pounds for the books yesterday, which is being accepted. Photographs being taken of the whale and moa bones.
