letter, 11/06/1934, H D Skinner to T W Downes, Has made enquiries from Mr Fels, who has no objections to the two volumes of Buller Birds, second edition, being part of the payment on their end. In 1929 it was valued at 22 pounds by Whitcombe and Tombs, there has been a slump since then the books fetching 15 pounds at Bethune's sale some months back, prepared to price theirs at this figure. Does not know if the Hocken Library Books Committee would be prepared to vote on the remaining 35 pounds, can only be decided after inspection. If the books could be insured for 50 pounds and forwarded to them, glad to meet the costs of this and postage. If Committee doesn't consent we would return free of cost.
