letter, 15/03/1934, Dr Peter Buck, Yale University New Haven to H. D. Skinner, Regarding photos I took in Europe they are from my own Leica camera. The Board of Maori Ethnological Research helped with £100. Using negatives to help make line drawings. Prepared paper on images from Tonga and Samoa by Kramer. Williams reproduced engraving of a goddess from Haapai in his Missionary Enterprises neither Collcott nor Gifford ever mentioned it. I saw same form in Fuller's collection in the B.M. I have had drawings made and added some from Tahiti, Cook and Australs to compare. Paper on "Technology of Polynesian Houses as a key to Diffusion" The influence of Malinowski, Radcliff Brown and Firth obscures. I will be staying with Davidson in Philadelphia. The Academy of Science has Wilkes Expedition material in their cellars I will be examining.. Discussion on "Round Houses" The red cloak in Hongi's portrait likely for artistic purposes
