letter, 23/02/1934 to Charlie Brasch, Thanks for Journal of Egyptian Archaeology, interest shown in excavations at Tel el Amarna. Other articles of interest, would like to take this Journal in place of the publications of the British School in Egypt. Rearrangement of the Egypt collection has taken place. Mentions of 300 amulets, description cards are being printed by a student named MacLachlan. Mentions of a small section devoted to mummies, a wall case containing the larger exhibits, the rest arrange chronologically. Pieces from Old and Middle Kingdoms are few; The New Kingdom makes for better showing; Pre-Dynastic period surprisingly well represented. Brasch grandfather is pleased with collection after a viewing, wishing to go on with its development, wanting to secure two or three more pre-Dynastic pots to complete the series; such as a "ship" pot, or pottery with the white criss-cross decoration. Goes on to talking of building up the stone bowl and vase collection, of which Brasch slate bowl was a very good example. Wanting also a few large examples of scarabs. Mention of a good season at Murdering Beach over January, mentions broken weather. Dr. Collier is back in Dunedin.
