letter, 14/09/1933, Sir Frederick Chapman, 28 Eccleston Hill Wellington. to H D Skinner, Benham has take Pelorus Jack off my hands. In the 90s I met Rawiri Te Maire an old Ngaitahu chief who fled Hawea when Te Puoho came. Story written down by Moses Wood of Puketeraki. Legend of 150 named people turned to stone to make mountains and other sites, many sites identified but needs more work on translating the original maori account. Can you take over all my material as I am unwell.
