letter, 21/10/1933, Ernest Barns, Ohane, Wanganui River to H D Skinner, Wanihi has replied with what he knows. There follows a detailed history of the canoe, including in 1880, Mr Balance the new Premier travelling in it. It was then renamed Te Paraniti. It was a war canoe. That ends his information. There follows discussion about who wrote the information. It is suggested Skinner write to Wanihi and thank him.
