letter, 12/06/1934, Goffe to H D Skinner, Lintel is shipped. When acquired from Tipene was very soiled and full of old paint or Kokowai. Cleaned with caustic soda and other, dressed with linseed oil. Has another small, very old carving dug up in sand dunes in Tolomanu Bay in 1906. Also fine Taiahas, beautifully carved. Will follow up carvers of lintel, poss by people of East Coast ?
