Letter, 13/06/1938, Mr C B Brereton, Nelson Institute and Museum to H D Skinner, Lately the City Council made a long excavation in the street of Mr Joseph Taylor of 36 Cambria St, Nelson. Taylor collected about 20 specimens of Moa bones, other birds and wood at the depth of about 12 feet. "He reckons he has very early bird bones from when birds had teeth." Sketch of jaw showing some teeth intact and tooth sockets. Please advise if you can investigate.
