Letter, 10/02/1938, H D Skinner to W. Oliver, Director Dominion Museum, A letter marked confidential which details a visit by Mr. Plowden-Wardlaw who claimed to be a bird lover who had a collection of bird skins. The man showed particular interest in penguins. Skinner reports that two days later the man was seen by Falla, Richdale and others killing two penguins at Taiaroa Heads. He then returned to see Skinner and tried to give him the penguin skins. Seeks Oliver's views on how to stop curators and taxidermists acquiring skins of protected birds such as penguins. Mentions Lindsey and Dover.
