Letter, 20/10/1937, H D Skinner to Gilbert Archey, Suggestion that the Nixon stern-piece is Ngati-Porou. On going conversation about the influences to and origins of maori design. Skinners enclosed paper on the frigate bird and spirals. Dr Carl Schuster due back from China and will introduce himself to Archey when in Auckland. Schuster has been in China for about a year collecting art motives.
