letter, 20/11/1936, F. V. Knapp, Alfred Street, Nelson to H D Skinner, Knapp details two mats shown to him by a Motueka resident. These were purchased from Maori in the early days of European settlement. Second mat has taniko surround. Thinks it will be valuable. Wonders if Skinner is interested in purchase for museum.
