I have looked out a fine series of old Polynesian clubs in exchange. One old Marquesan war club we purchased from Oldman in 1927 for £14. Also a carved pillar base from Lower Hutt. Ebbitt of Hastings showed me a large collection of fakes and 4 or 5 genuine pieces including a stone flute from the East Cape and a hei-matau from Auckland
