letter, 19/10/1936, G. Archey, Auckland Institute & Museum to H.D. Skinner, The Prime Minister was interested in the Chinese Art Exhibitions and didn’t think the expenditure too high, but the Dominion Museum and Mr. Troup had the most active interest. I have sent a letter asking the Board to arrange the exhibitions around NZ - enclosed is the items of expenditure. I suggested the National Art Gallery ask for a grant from the government to bring Victor Rienaecker to NZ & cover the annual expense of these exhibitions.
