Contents are bound copy of Otago Witness pictures, Chinese curios, photo of Rev and medallion awarded from Chinese Govt. Museum to Bennett - will accept gifts and pay freight. Bennett to Dr Benham - goods to be freighted, Mrs Bennett would like to assist with unpacking as can name some objects. Frances Blackles, Mt Pleasant to Dominion Museum - requesting pamphlets with drawings of caves.

letter, 06/07/1934, Keeper Zoology, British Museum to Director, Request species of female fresh water crayfish carrying young. Found one specimen, will look for more in summer.

letter, 08/08/1934, C.C. Buckland to, Offer to sell dinner service from the 58th Regiment that was used by military in the Indian Mutiny and Maori wars. Museum to Archey, the regiment was in Auckland - do you want to follow up. Archey to Benham, would be interested in one dish but have no room to take all 95 pieces.

letter, 17/11/1934, Earl B Perkins to Prof Benham, On Byrd Antarctic Expedition, returning to Dunedin then to States. Request for live flightless birds to take to States. Min of Internal Affairs , permit required, can approve Weka and Pukeko. Noted Whitney Expedition of few years ago obtained "rarer birds in contempt of certain conditions ... to the disgust of naturalists of New Zealand." Dpt Internal affairs declined, do not export live specimens of tuatara and protected birds.

"Strange club like head" has opened up, photograph is poor. The great heavy pounder is strange, likewise the "plough like (apparently unfinished) object". Contacted Mr Johnston to pass one of his cut out stone sections, are drying these out before going into crates.
