The missing pataka door in Best's Bulletin cannot be the one we have. Dr. Stearns tells me you are short of Hawaiian material, which could be matched with Cook Island material and exchanged.

letter, 13/02/1936, Ms C Boyaek(?) of 13 Keith Street, Wanganui to The Director, Dunedin Museum, Letter offering the sale of 'some books' (including 'Volume V of Macrolepidoptera of the World') to the museum. The writer was advised to contact the director by their late husband's friend, Mr Shepard, who was curator of the Wanganui Museum. The writer mentions her late husband was an avid collector of moths and butterflies, and that he often helped identify them for Wanganui Museum as he was a friend of Mr Shepard.

letter, 05/02/1936, Josephine Mary Brown, Auckland Polytechnic to Professor Benham, Short letter asking Benham to accept an enclosed 5/- (5 shillings) for the Dunedin Museum Fund.

letter, 27/02/1936, Unsigned to Miss J.M. Brown, Auckland Polytechnic, Letter of thanks for the 5/- donation mentioned in [21], mentioning enclosed receipt. Letter was not written by Benham as it mentions him in the third-person.

letter, 30/06/1936, T. Lindsay Buick, Dominion Museum to xx Catherwood (?), Short letter in reply to [25] thanking Catherwood for some pamphlets, and informing him that he has secured Turner's papers direct from Turner and thus refuses Catherwood's offer to help procure them for him with thanks.

letter, 23/06/1936, T. Lindsay Buick, Dominion Museum to xx Catherwood (?), Letter stating Buick is anxious to procure copies of the Skinner papers on 'New Zealand Greenstone' issued in December of 1935 (printed in Vol. 65 of Transactions), and requests he be sent copies for three friends stating he is happy to pay for them.

Lindsay Buick, Esq., Dominion Museum, Letter in reply to [24] stating that the Skinner Papers have been sent and that they are "author's separates" and there is no need for payment. Also offers to source and send 'Dr Turner's geological treatment of nephrites, etc.' which the museum no-longer holds copies of.

letter, 22/12/1936, T. Lindsay Buick, Alexander Turnbull Library to Mr Skinner, Letter congratulating Skinner on his appointment as director of the Otago University Museum in succession to Benham. Buick expresses he hopes his relations with the museum can continue to be 'most cordial' as they have been in the past. The second half of the letter discusses a moa-hunter camp at the mouth of the Waitaki River, and although much of the passage is illegible it appears there is some type of conflict between Buick and Otago Museum staff working at the camp site which he wishes to resolve with Skinner. Buick expresses he would like to come to Dunedin to discuss the 'problem' of the 'moa-hunter camp' with Skinner, and to view the collection of stone tools which were found there.
