Ever wondered what goes into scoring a film? This NZ Music Month, Ōtepoti-based musician and video game designer Stef Animal takes you inside her creative process.

Stef will dissect the music she composed for the planetarium show XYZZY, walking you through how it was built, where each sound
came from, the decisions behind every choice, and how the music was shaped to sit alongside the visuals the filmmakers created.

Stef is no stranger to Aotearoa's music scene – her album Top Gear landed a track on RNZ's Nights with Karyn Hay, she has toured NZ with Princess Chelsea, and her award-winning children's music game Animal Tracks has been enjoyed by tamariki across the country.

The event will close with a short screening XYZZY in the planetarium – so you can experience the finished work exactly as it was designed to be seen and heard.
