Tūhura Otago Museum celebrates Papua New Guinea's Independence Day with the opening of our new stairwell and foyer display.
Tūhura Otago Museum has strong ties to Papua New Guinea. Individuals, with Dunedin connections, who worked or lived in Papa New Guinea have contributed items for more than a century. We also have collections on loan from the National Museum and Art Gallery of Papua New Guinea.
Having such a rich collection enhances our capacity to share knowledge about the country and its people, through its display and research.
Come and see these beautiful taoka on display in the stairwell levels, or the touch screen once we are at Level 1.
