Fragment of a patu onewa, handle remaining. Mid grey in colour. Surface is ground. Butt flares out with incomplete (unsymmetrical) ornamental grooves on the proximal end.
Fragment patu onewa with four ornamental grooves and has a drilled hole for the suspending cord. There is a red ink stain with surface scratches all over. No chips. Looks to be broken where the blade would have been.
Incomplete patu onewa, with bottom of blade missing. Drill perforation present. Patu is bruised all over and heavily chipped at the break.
Complete patu paraoa. There is a rectangular perforation through the narrowest part of the patu, where the blade meets the proximal knob. There is a partial circular perforation at the proximal end on one side. There are chips along the distal edge.
Complete kotiate rakau. Geometric carvings on both sides of blade and handle with a face on the butt. There is a perforation on the handle with two smaller ones on the blade. Has chips on both sides.
Broken patu onewa, butt remaining. Perforation at one end.
Complete Patu Onewa, with smooth finish to surfaces. Chips and wear apparent around edges and handle. Drilling of butt incomplete.
Partial patu onewa, no perforation present. Blade portion and handle present. Blade is smooth and tapered towards handle/butt end, with some light bruising present. Light chipping on edges.
Complete kotiate made of wood. Two perforations on sides of blade. Six carved spirals/circles on blade. Face carving on butt with paua shell inlay eyes.
Complete patu paraoa with drilled perforation on handle. Butt end has deteriorated slightly. The shape of the patu differs in that the handle is placed at the side of blade, as opposed to the middle. Patu is weathered showing porous like pattern over surface. Crack is present beginning from point end of blade running vertically up blade roughly at the centre. Underside of blade has discolouring/possibly staining.
Broken patu onewa, handle and small part of blade remaining. Drilled perforation and ornamental grooves on butt.
Complete patu onewa, with no tau. Drill perforation present, Butt has ornamental grooves around the top and blade has moderate chipping around bottom edges. There is a large chip on side of blade, and minor scratches on front/back of blade.
