Complete tewhatewha. The upper edge of the blade is curved, with a slight slope to it. The lower edge of the blade is curved, with a small perforation near the shaft. The cross-section of the upper shaft is lenticular, becoming circular on the lower. The surface of the tewhatewha is fully carved. The blade has a rauru spiral on either side, with partial spirals filling in gaps around the edges. The shaft of the tewhatewha is carved with three haehae followed by a row of pakati in a variety of patterns; alternating linear then curved as it goes down the tewhatewha. Approximately 40cm from the bottom of the tewhatewha there is a carved face with missing paua shell inlay.
