Major differentiation between butt and blade, with sides and front of butt reduced to form shoulders. Bevel is demarcated by a curved line. Cutting edge is slightly curved and sharp. "Tokata" inscription on front and back.
Broken adze, butt and most of blade remaining. Light green and grey pounamu. Cross-section is trapezoidal, with the back narrower than the front. Surface is bruised with grounding on the front of the blade. Major differentiation between the butt and blade; sides and front of the butt are reduced to form a ridge. Bevel and cutting edge have been broken off. "Tokata" inscription.
Complete adze Cross-section is oval. Surface of blade is ground, surface of butt and sides are bruised. No differentiation between butt and blade. Sides taper towards poll. Bevel is continuous with blade. Blade is sharp and curved.

Broken adze, blade only Trapezoidal with back narrower than front. The surface is ground with some chips and flake scars. The bevel is demarcated with a curved ridge. The cutting edge is sharp with a few chips.
Complete adze Cross-section is oval. Surface of front of blade is ground, front of butt is bruised. The back has natural rough patches, but is ground at the blade. Minor differentiation between butt and blade. Front reduced to create a small shoulder. Bevel is continuous with blade. Blade is sharp and curved. Tokata written on front.
Broken greenstone adze, butt missing. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is mostly ground with flake scars at the broken end, the bevel and on the blade. There is no distinction between the butt and the blade. The bevel is smooth and demarcated by a curved line. The cutting edge has been flaked off. It is irregular and sharp.
Broken unfinished adze. Light grey/brown stone. Asymmetrical quadrangular cross-section. The surface is mostly ground with flaking and bruising on the proper left and the broken end. There is a saw mark on the proper right side. The bevel is demarcated by a slight ridge. The cutting edge is sharp and asymmetrical.

Complete, unfinished adze Rectangular The surface is ground with some flakes and chips. The front is reduced. Shoulder is straight. The bevel is continuous with the butt. The cutting edge is sharp and chipped.
Complete adze Trapezoidal with back narrower than front. The surface is ground, with a few flake scars. The front and proper right side is reduced. There is a saw mark on the proper left. The bevel is continuous with the blade. The cutting edge is sharp and curved.
