Both back and front portions of adze are bruised with minimal flake scarring. Bevel/lower portion of adze is missing, however attempts to glue what was left of the adze have been glued back together. No differentiation between butt and blade, however poll portion is narrow and pointed. No bevel present on adze.
Complete unfinished adze. Grey/brown stone. Quadrangular cross-section. The surface is flaked and bruised with ground areas on the blade. The front of the butt is bruised. The bevel is smooth and is demarcated by an irregular line of flake scars. The cutting edge is sharp and curved with a large chip on the proper right.
Complete adze. The cross section is circular. The surface is ground. There is a patch of clear, shiny substance adhered to the back. The butt is differentiated by a flattening of the back and a reduction of the front from the shoulder to the poll. The bevel is demarcated by a ridge at the chin. The cutting edge is curved and sharp.
Broken adze (lower blade remaining). Stone. Dark grey. Cross-section is oval. Surface is ground. Butt not present. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is heavily chipped. Southland written on back.
Broken adze (butt remaining). Stone. Black. Cross-section is oval. Surface is bruised, with some flaking. Minor differentiation between butt and what remains of blade, sides reduced just after break. Blade not present. Southland written on front.
Broken roughout (lower blade remaining). Stone. Black. Cross-section is rectangular, slightly rounded. Surface is flaked and bruised. Butt not present. Bevel is flaked and unfinished, cutting edge is curved and sharp. Southland written on front.

Broken adze (blade remaining). Stone. Dark grey. Cross-section is oval. Surface of front and cutting edge is ground, other surfaces bruised and flaked. Butt not present. Bevel is demarcated by surface change. Cutting edge is sharp and straight with some chipping. Southland written on back.
