Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Stone. Mid grey, light grey. Cross-section of butt is oval, cross-section of blade is trapezoidal, with back narrower than front. Surface is ground on blade and back of butt, with some bruising on sides of blade, bruising on front and sides and butt. Major differentiation between butt and blade, sides heavily reduced forming shoulder. Bevel is continuous with blade, cutting edge is sharp and slightly curved. "Papanui" written on front.
