Adze, Toki
Broken adze (lower blade remaining). Stone. Black. Cross-section is oval. Surfaces of front and back are ground, surfaces of sides are heavily bruised and flaked. Butt not present, but sides start to taper before break. Bevel is demarcated by a line, cutting edge is sharp and curved, lightly chipped at corners. "Shag River" and "Central midden oven layer 1' below surface 6" from bottom of layer" written on front.
