Adze, Toki
Complete adze. Dark grey stone. Cross-section is rectangular. Surface is bruised and ground. Major differentiation between butt and blade with front of butt reduced to form a ridge and shoulders. Bevel is continuous with the blade. Cutting edge is curved and sharp, but heavily flaked, particularly in the centre. "Kaitangata." inscription.
